Over the River and Through the Woods

Updated: Jul 22, 2018

When I first posted about doing OHIO SUMMER SESSIONS, my childhood friend Sara was the first to reply with interest. A sunset shoot was booked and we planned on meeting at John Bryan State Park in Yellow Springs.

This was the first time in many years (like 10 or more) that I visited John Bryan State Park – Sara, her family and I started off taking some family pics under a cool tree, some fun pics of the girls, and then we ventured down into the forest.

Sisters

During our trek into the forest - - - check out all the fun we had together:

We walked over a cool bridge….

We crossed over a stone path through the river…

We had lots of Smiles…

We shared some some funny moments…

What's so funny?

They jumped high…

They peaked through an opening…

I see you...

We found some cool light…

River Walking

In the midst of all of the fun we ended up getting lost…..yes lost. We, or at least I, thought we were following the river back to where we started but we ended up walking the wrong direction for a good while. This led to the darkness creeping in and you guessed it we were LOST. We ended up sloshing through the muck and getting covered in mud. Legs, shoes, hands….yes, you guessed it MUDDY! Luckily this family was up for the adventure and enjoyed the experience along side me. This was my first and only time getting lost during a session....:)

My hope for this family is that they will look back on this experience with fond memories. We had an awesome adventure together and it will be remembered as my most adventurous session to date.
