Five Reasons Why Fall is the Perfect Season for Family Photos
Fall is my favorite time of year. I love drinking pumpkin spiced lattes, going to fall festivals, pumpkin carving... EVERYTHING about fall is so much fun! It's also the time I get to see a lot of my family photography clients, which is awesome. I love catching up and seeing how much the littles have grown. Now that you know why I love the fall, check out the five reasons why fall is the perfect season for family photos.
The Weather is Perfect
If you have children, you know that taking them out in the extreme heat or cold is never fun. Nothing makes you feel less photogenic than sweat dripping down your back. During autumn, the weather is absolutely perfect. Sessions are comfortable and the weather is beautiful.
More Outfit Options.
That sweater in your closet would be perfect to be photographed in, but there’s no way you’re wearing it to your session when it’s 90 degrees outside. Once autumn rolls around, your wardrobe options expand dramatically. It’s still sunny enough to slip in some warmer options, but not too hot to wear something long sleeved or heavier if you prefer. Furthermore, as the weather gets cooler during fall, you can start to incorporate cozy accessories such as beanies and scarves into your family’s portrait outfits.
Holidays are Approaching.
If you're like me then you enjoy gifting photos to loved ones during the holidays. What grandma doesn’t love a sweet family photo to set out for all to see? Holding your family photo session in the fall allows you time to organize and plan out those photo gifts. Some of my favorites are photos books, framed prints, and of course I can’t forget to mention holiday cards.
There is a feeling of exciting in the air.
There’s something about the start of school, the changing seasons, and the approaching holiday season that puts a general feel of excitement into the air. Believe us, when your family is feeling the ‘vibe,’ it’s sure to shine through in your portraits!
You can incorporate Halloween costumes into your images.
We know that you want your photos to show your family as you are today. How fun would it be to have a few shots that incorporate Halloween. There’s no reason why a few fun pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes can’t be a part of that! This idea is even more fun if the entire family decides to dress up together.
